GO-TO Guide: Hurricane Irma Edition

In light of Hurricane Irma, we justified our inner “fat girl” by sitting in the dark with no air conditioning eating like all the junk food we can get our hands on and consuming a month’s worth of wine in just a short few days. We unintentionally bought all of aisle 5 at the grocery store in preparation for that betch, Irma. Cabin Fever has officially set in, and we’re ready to get the F out of hurricane mode. We’ve found some local spots offering specials to those of us on the struggle bus here with no power or water, or just the ones in need of some more food and alcohol OUTSIDE of our homes.

Miami Beach Edition

Where: 2901 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33140

It’s not a surprise that the Edition has our back in a time of need. We like to call the typical experience at this fine hotel a well-rounded one. From noshing at Jean-Georges’ delicious Market cafe, to drinking at the Matador Bar, to bowling at Basement–we get a little of everything here. Oh, and if you’re still without power sweating your butt off, you can cool down and ice skate for FREE!

Market: Opens at 12:00PM with 15% off your check
Matador Room: Opens at 6:00PM with 15% off your check
Matador Bar: $12 cocktails
Basement Bowl: Opens at 5:00PM with free ice skating and $10 Absolut cocktails

Bodega South Beach

Where: 1220 16th St, Miami Beach, FL 33139

Did you say $2 tacos, a guac station and $5 margaritas?! This is the answer to all of our problems, people. Chill out and satisfy the Taco Tuesday craving you missed because of Irma.

Where: 222 16th St, Miami Beach, FL 33139

Let all your frustrations out at our favorite “barcade,” with 50% off everything behind the bar. There’s no better feeling than being tipsy and playing Ms. PacMan till you can’t outrun the ghosts anymore…and then you just drink more. #soreloser

R House

Where: 2727 NW 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33127

R House is opening their doors to make their casa your casa, with extended happy hour from 3:00PM to 9:00PM. They understand the stress we’ve endured this past week and want to make sure everyone can make it to HH.

Sugar at East

Where: 788 Brickell Plaza, Miami, FL 33131

For every specialty cocktail, $2 will be donated to Feeding South Florida.  The more ya drink, the more people you’ll help feed! Let’s go people, we’re all in this together.
